The Problem
Imagine that you're driving a car in rush-hour traffic. Now imagine that your dashboard, your steering wheel, your brake and your throttle have all been replaced by little lights, buttons and levers that interface directly with your car's engine, but none of them are labelled in any way you've ever seen before, and they don't always do what you think they should.
Operating a website can be a bit like that. While having access to the underlying HTML, CSS, PHP and various and sundry other acronyms gives you a great deal of control and power over what's going on, if you don't know what you're doing it can be an exercise in frustration. And since most people have better, or at least more important things to do than stare at line upon line of code for hour after hour, it's hardly surprising that this is a somewhat, shall we say, unique, skill set. That's what we do. We love it. We realize that sounds crazy, and, well, it probably is crazy. But if you're not crazy like us, we've got good news: Content Management.
The Solution
A Content Management System (CMS) is a lot like all those nifty gadgets like steering wheels and fuel gauges that you find in your car. You tell the CMS what you want your web page to do, and CMS tells your web page. The CMS speaks normal human and Web languages both fluently, so the whole transaction is a lot less painful than the slow, simple shouting that passes for communication between two people who don't happen to share a language. Ulyssan uses a number of different Open Source CMS systems for different applications. Open Source means they're free to download, install and use.

That's right: free. That's the whole point of Open-Source. There are no license fees, and you're not stealing anything by using it without paying for it. That's how you're supposed to use it. So, when you commission Ulyssan to build you a CMS-powered website you're not paying us for the software, you're paying us to build you a site that can be used with the software.
